Earthcast Desk Lamp, 2025. Crafted as a special gift for one of my dearest friends, Rachel Evans, this desk lamp emerged from the 2025 earthcasting experiments. The tile features a beanpod relief, a Cosanti-style flute, a delicate leaf imprint, a yellow meadow flower, and various other desert plants collected locally. The base is made from Baltic birch, consistent with my other furniture work. I hand-formed a custom copper riser for the bulb and painted the top of the bulb white to direct the light downward. The result is a soft, moonlight-like glow that’s gentle on the eyes.
