Painting for Green Island Lounge, 2026. This painting is part of a larger ongoing series utilizing scavenged wood scraps as canvases to depict my favorite places I have discovered since moving to the city. This painting is of my favorite jazz bar in Adams Morgan called The Green Island Lounge. They have incredibly talented musicians that play live jazz 7 days a week until early morning, amazing drinks and food and an atmosphere that feels like a home away from home. I worked off of sketches from my notebooks and plen aire paint studies to achieve the finished piece that the staff really loved and will display in the bar. Thrilled on how it turned out and glad to give back to such a unique establishment in DC.
