The Shaw Loft, 2025. When moving to Washington, DC, I did not have ample time to find a proper apartment. I was also nervous to see how long I would last at my first corporate job. I feel that I got pretty lucky and found a room for rent in the historic neighborhood of Shaw, which is just east of the beautiful and walkable district of Logan Circle. It was on the third floor, with tons of light from various windows. I really took pride in this space, as I was essentially just renting a room inside an old row house with random roommates and a shared kitchen and laundry, but it was paradise for me. I really felt like the space adapted into my own the more time I spent decorating it between the super late nights starting my architecture career. It became my refuge in a busy city and a place to relax. I was luckily able to bring a large portion of my woodworked furniture from my house in Tucson. These slides show the 3D model I made in Rhino 3D to map the space and arrange my furniture before moving in.
